On December 31, 2020 (85 FR 86843), the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) published a final rule in the federal register amending its rulemaking procedures by revising the process for preparing and adopting rules and petitions. Also, FMCSA adds new definitions, and makes general administrative corrections throughout its rulemaking procedures. These actions are authorized under the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act and the Administrative Procedure Act (APA). This final rule is effective March 1, 2021.
